Student and Parent Code of Conduct
Last updated: July 27, 2026
This Code of Conduct applies to Students, parents, legal guardians, Teachers, and users participating in AlpacaLingua lessons, chats, homework, support, or other platform features. AlpacaLingua is operated by UnixBox Corp, a New York corporation doing business as AlpacaLingua.
The goal is to keep online learning respectful, safe, age-appropriate, and focused.
1. Respectful Communication
Users must communicate respectfully. Discrimination, threats, harassment, insults, sexualized behavior, bullying, intimidation, and abusive language are not allowed in lessons, chat, homework, support messages, or group spaces.
2. Lesson Environment
Students should join lessons from a safe and appropriate location, wear suitable clothing, avoid dangerous or inappropriate background content, and behave on camera in a way that supports learning.
3. Approved Communication Channels Only
Communication between a Student and a Teacher must happen through AlpacaLingua’s official channels. Personal WhatsApp, personal SMS, personal email, personal phone calls, personal social-media messages, and disappearing-message apps are not allowed for lesson-related communication.
A Teacher may not add a Student to personal social media, request or share personal contact details, ask for a personal photo, or invite the Student to communicate outside AlpacaLingua.
For a Student under 18, a Teacher may not communicate with the Student directly outside AlpacaLingua. Communication with a minor happens through AlpacaLingua or through the parent or legal guardian.
4. Privacy and Recordings
Users may not make their own recordings of a lesson, publish a Teacher or another Student, share screenshots that reveal another person, disclose private information, or repost lesson content outside AlpacaLingua without authorization. Recording is handled by AlpacaLingua under the Lesson Recording and Monitoring Policy.
5. Parent Participation
Parents and legal guardians may support the Student when appropriate, especially for younger learners, but should not disrupt the lesson, pressure the Teacher, or communicate in a way that violates this Code.
6. Acceptable Use
Users may not hack, scrape, upload malware, impersonate others, share passwords, create multiple accounts to abuse trials or promotions, commit fraud, abuse chargebacks, upload illegal content, infringe copyright, resell materials, or use the Service to advertise other services.
7. Consequences
Violations may result in a warning, removal from a lesson, loss of chat access, suspension, termination, refund denial where allowed, or immediate safety action for serious misconduct. Serious complaints are handled under the Safeguarding Policy and the Complaints and Dispute Resolution Policy.
8. Reporting
Students, parents, Teachers, and staff should report violations to support@alpacalingua.com with the account email, lesson details, screenshots or messages when useful, and a short description of the issue.
