Parent or Guardian Consent Agreement

Last updated: July 27, 2026

This agreement is used whenever a parent or legal guardian must authorize a Student to use AlpacaLingua. It is required for any Student under 13 and applies to any parent-owned account where the actual learner is a minor. AlpacaLingua is operated by UnixBox Corp, a New York corporation doing business as AlpacaLingua.

Until the required parental consent is completed, the child does not receive access to lessons, Google Meet, messages, homework, or lesson recordings.

1. Enrolling a Student Under 13

AlpacaLingua does not knowingly permit a Student under 13 to create their own account. A parent or legal guardian who wishes to enroll a Student under 13 must contact support@alpacalingua.com before an account is created. AlpacaLingua then sends the parent a consent form and a secure link to create the parent-owned account.

For any Student under 18, the account is created and owned by the parent or legal guardian, who is also the payer and the primary point of contact. The child is added as a Student profile inside the parent account.

2. How AlpacaLingua Verifies Parental Consent

AlpacaLingua verifies parental consent using more than a simple checkbox:

confirmation of the parent’s email through a one-time link;

an electronic consent form signed by the parent, including the parent name, the child’s name, the child’s age or age group, and the date;

for any paid plan, matching the payment card used to complete the transaction to the parent identified in the consent record;

storage of the consent version accepted, timestamp, IP address, and user agent.

3. Information We Collect for the Consent Record

The consent record includes the parent or guardian name, email, phone number, relationship to the child, the child’s name, the child’s age or age group, timezone, language level, the version of this agreement accepted, electronic signature, date, IP address, and user agent.

4. Authority to Approve the Account

The parent or legal guardian confirms they have legal authority to approve the child’s account and to permit the child to use AlpacaLingua for trial lessons, private lessons, group lessons, homework, progress tracking, teacher communication, and related learning services.

5. Consent to Data Processing

The parent or legal guardian permits AlpacaLingua to process the information needed to operate lessons and the child’s Student profile. This includes scheduling, attendance, homework, tests, teacher notes, progress, support messages, payment status, class history, and technical logs, as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. Teacher and Staff Access

Assigned Teachers and authorized AlpacaLingua staff see the information needed to teach, support, evaluate progress, manage scheduling, and keep the learning environment safe. Teachers do not receive more information than is reasonably needed for those purposes.

7. Rules and Linked Policies

By giving consent, the parent or legal guardian agrees that the child must follow the Terms of Use, the Privacy Policy, the Class Rules, the Code of Conduct, the Safeguarding Policy, and any plan-specific rules shown at checkout, booking, or onboarding.

8. Recording and Marketing

AlpacaLingua may record lessons when reasonably needed under the Lesson Recording and Monitoring Policy. Not every lesson is recorded. For a Student under 18, parental consent to recording must be in place before a recorded lesson may proceed. AlpacaLingua does not use a child’s name, image, voice, video, class excerpt, testimonial, or learning work in marketing under any circumstances.

9. Parent Rights: Review, Correction, Withdrawal, Deletion

A parent or legal guardian may contact support@alpacalingua.com at any time to review the personal information collected from the child, request corrections, stop further collection, or request deletion of the child’s account and personal information. Withdrawal of consent may limit or end the child’s access if the service cannot be provided without that consent.

If AlpacaLingua materially changes how it handles a child’s personal information in a way that goes beyond the previously granted consent, we will request new parental consent before the change applies to that child.
