Safeguarding Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

This public Safeguarding Policy explains AlpacaLingua’s expectations for safe online learning and appropriate boundaries. AlpacaLingua is operated by UnixBox Corp, a New York corporation doing business as AlpacaLingua.

It focuses on Student safety, reporting, communication channels, and how AlpacaLingua responds to concerns.

1. Safety First

Student safety is a priority. AlpacaLingua expects Teachers, staff, Students, parents, and legal guardians to act in a way that protects Students and supports a respectful learning environment.

2. Approved Communication Channels

Lesson-related communication happens through official AlpacaLingua channels. Personal WhatsApp, personal SMS, personal social media, and disappearing-message apps are not allowed. Contact with a minor that bypasses the parent or guardian, or that bypasses AlpacaLingua’s records, is not allowed.

3. Teacher Boundaries

Teachers may not ask a Student for private phone numbers, home addresses, personal social-media contacts, personal photos, gifts, money transfers, or private meetings outside official AlpacaLingua arrangements.

Teachers may not offer or arrange private tutoring, outside payments, or unofficial services with a Student or parent through the AlpacaLingua relationship unless AlpacaLingua has formally approved the arrangement.

4. Reporting Concerns

Parents, Students, Teachers, and staff should report worrying behavior to support@alpacalingua.com. Reports may involve inappropriate communication, boundary violations, unsafe content, harassment, threats, or any conduct that creates a safety concern.

Anonymous reports are accepted. Without contact information, AlpacaLingua may be limited in what it can investigate.

5. Immediate Protective Action

AlpacaLingua may temporarily restrict or suspend a Teacher when a complaint is supported by credible information or when temporary action is reasonably necessary to protect a Student. This includes blocking a Teacher from a Student, reassigning the Teacher, pausing lessons, and preserving records.

A temporary suspension is not a final finding of wrongdoing. AlpacaLingua does not wait for a complete investigation before taking protective steps in a credible child-safety matter.

6. Review and Authorities

AlpacaLingua conducts an internal review, protects confidentiality where practical, prohibits retaliation against a person who raises a good-faith concern, and contacts appropriate authorities when required or when the risk justifies it.

7. Support Timing

A safety complaint receives an initial review within 24 hours. Other complaints follow the timing described in the Complaints and Dispute Resolution Policy.
