Class Rules, Rescheduling and No-Show Policy

Last updated: July 27, 2026

This policy explains attendance, rescheduling, late cancellations, no-shows, technical problems, group class rules, and timezone responsibilities. AlpacaLingua is operated by UnixBox Corp, a New York corporation doing business as AlpacaLingua.

The exact rescheduling window and any per-plan limits are shown in the booking flow and in your student portal.

1. Scheduling and Timezones

Lesson times are shown in the timezone selected on your account. Students are responsible for checking local time, daylight saving changes, calendar entries, and reminders before joining a lesson.

2. Rescheduling by Plan

Standard: rescheduling is not included. A late cancellation counts as a used lesson, and a no-show counts as a used lesson.

Premium and Intensive: up to 5 reschedules are included per monthly billing cycle, provided the request is made at least 24 hours before the scheduled start. A late cancellation counts as a used lesson. A no-show is converted to a lesson credit within the reschedule limit; once the limit is reached, further no-shows count as used lessons.

Group: an individual Student cannot reschedule a group lesson. A missed group lesson counts as used. The group as a whole may be rescheduled only by AlpacaLingua or the assigned Teacher.

3. Teacher Waiting Time and Student Lateness

The Teacher waits up to 15 minutes from the scheduled start time. A Student who does not join within that window is marked no-show.

A Student who joins late may attend the remaining portion of the lesson. The lesson normally ends at the scheduled time. The Teacher may extend the lesson only when the Teacher has no conflicting commitment; an extension is not guaranteed.

4. Teacher Lateness or Cancellation

If the Teacher is late, unavailable, or cancels, the lesson is not counted as used. AlpacaLingua will offer a rescheduled lesson at no additional charge. Where a reschedule is not possible, AlpacaLingua will issue a lesson credit or, in a mandatory-exception case listed in the Refund Policy, a refund.

5. Technical Problems

Students are responsible for their device, connection, microphone, camera, and Google Meet setup. A single verified technical problem on the Student side may receive a courtesy credit at support’s discretion. Repeated Student-side problems are the Student’s responsibility.

If AlpacaLingua, the Teacher, or a platform provider has the technical problem, support will review records and reschedule the lesson or issue a credit.

6. Group Classes

A Group class runs with a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 Students. If some Students are absent, the lesson continues with the Students who attend, and absent Students are marked absent under the plan rules.

7. Force Majeure and Support Decisions

Weather, power outages, emergencies, internet failures, or other events outside reasonable control may require support review. AlpacaLingua support makes the final operational decision for disputed scheduling cases.
