Subscription and Automatic Renewal Policy

This policy explains how AlpacaLingua subscriptions and automatic renewal work when a student chooses a paid plan.
The exact plan name, price, billing period, included lessons, and renewal date are shown at checkout, in purchase confirmation, or in the student portal.
1. Plan Details
Each plan should identify the plan name, price, billing period, what is included, lesson type, lesson count or access rules, trial terms if any, taxes or fees, and the date the next payment is expected. If plan details shown at checkout differ from this summary, the checkout details control.
2. First Payment and Trials
The checkout flow should explain when the first payment is charged. A trial or placement session does not automatically start a paid subscription unless the user is clearly told before submitting payment or account confirmation.
3. Automatic Renewal
If a plan renews automatically, it renews at the end of the billing period unless canceled before the renewal deadline shown in the account or purchase flow. Users should be able to see their active plan and next renewal information.
4. Online Cancellation
Students who subscribe online should have a clear way to cancel online or through support. Cancellation stops future renewals, but access may continue until the end of the paid period unless the plan or applicable law requires a different result.
5. Failed Payments and Grace Period
If payment fails, AlpacaLingua may retry the charge, ask for updated payment details, provide a grace period, pause access, or cancel the subscription. Any grace period may depend on the plan and payment provider.
6. Price Changes
If AlpacaLingua changes the price of a renewing plan, affected users should receive reasonable notice before the new price applies. The notice should explain the new price, when it starts, and how to cancel.
7. Taxes, Fees, and Confirmation
Prices may exclude taxes, currency conversion, card fees, or bank fees unless stated otherwise. AlpacaLingua should keep a record of the user’s subscription consent, checkout confirmation, and renewal terms.
